Imagine your Cardano address as a mailbox. To receive mail (ADA), you need a unique address for people to send it to. This address is derived from a cryptographic key pair. A key pair consists of two important keys:
Sending ADA: When you want to send ADA, you’ll need the recipient’s receiving address. Your wallet will use your private key to sign the transaction, ensuring only you can authorize the transfer.
Receiving ADA: When someone sends you ADA, they’ll need your receiving address. The blockchain will verify the transaction and deposit the ADA to your wallet.
Never share your private key: This key grants access to your funds! Keep it safe and secure.
Consider using a hardware wallet: Hardware wallets provide an extra layer of security for storing your private keys.
Manage your receiving addresses: Using separate receiving addresses can improve security and transaction tracking.
